This colortype depicts the rotunda and colonnade of the Palace of Fine Arts at the Panama Pacific International Exposition held in San Francisco in 1915.
The Palace formed an arc, with an outer circumference of 1,100 feet, around the rotunda. Bernard Maybeck, architect of the Palace, used Roman ruins as the inspiration for the complex.
