Queen's Game-on October 19, 1957, Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, Prince Philip, journeyed to Byrd Stadium to see "a typical American sport;" as guests of University President Wilson H. Elkins and Maryland Governor Theodore R. McKeldin, they watched the Terrapins defeat the University of North Carolina Tar Heels 21 to 7; this major upset of one of the Terps' fiercest rivals has become known as the "Queen's Game"
