Shuttle-UM

Shuttle-UM, a transportation service provided free of charge to University
of Maryland students and employees, began operation in 1976, with initial
service to three commuter routes. At present, annual ridership exceeds
one million persons who are served by a fleet of over thirty buses. The
records of Shuttle-UM document the administration, operations, policies,
and history of the service. They consist of annual reports, publications,
employee handbooks and manuals, and other administrative materials. Also
included are bus schedules, bus routes, dispatcher logs, bus stop descriptions,
and papers written about the history of the organization.
