Circulation and Reserves

Circulation

Circulation policies conform to those of the UM Libraries, except that the loan period for books borrowed from the White Memorial Library by faculty members is one semester.

Reserves

Faculty members and teaching assistants who would like to place course-related materials on reserve at White Memorial Library are encouraged to read the Library's Guidelines for Faculty. Reserve requests may be submitted online by completing the White Memorial Library Reserve Request Form.

Reserved materials are kept at the Information/Circulation Desk. The user must present a current University of Maryland student ID to borrow materials. Items may be used as long as needed inside the Library until it closes, but during the day, materials on reserve may not be taken from the Library. Loan periods may be shortened if demand is heavy. It is possible to check materials out overnight, beginning one hour before closing. Items are due one hour after the Library opens the following day.
