Statement of Shared ValuesCollection Management Team We value the ability to see and value a "big picture view" and expect all team members to demonstrate a sensitivity to the needs of diverse interest groups within and outside the University Libraries. We expect a continuing commitment to the Libraries' vision of team-based organization. We appreciate the significance of the work we are charged to accomplish and expect all team members to contribute to the group work and demonstrate a commitment to group effectiveness. All team members are expected to exercise integrity, creativity, collegiality, discretion, good humor, and good judgement during the group's work. We believe that the group process is important to the effectiveness of the team. Therefore we work to develop our sensitivity to group process and seek a commitment to collaborative problem-solving in the context of consensus-based decision-making. The team is committed to improving its group process by taking the time for reflection on past practices to identify areas of needed development. Because of the collaborative nature of the Team's work, members are expected to exercise leadership in carrying out the work of the team, to work to build trust among team members, and to seek to build trust within in the organization in support of the team's work. Recognizing the broad context in which the Team's work occurs, the team affirms its respect for the work of other groups and strives to coordinate the work of the team with other groups as appropriate. |
