Meeting Minutes: Collection Management Team

I. Agenda review 
No changes. 

II.  Beginning discussion of FY05 conversions to e-only 
Laura Wrubel presented a spreadsheet summarizing publisher licensing information 
in regard to moving journal subscriptions to e-only.  Issues such as 
publishers' archiving plans, cancellation policies, and ILL stipulations 
as well as an estimated savings based on 2004 pricing are included on 
the spreadsheet. The presented information was an introduction to the 
many facets of moving to e-only that CMT will be examining.  The 
information gathered in the spreadsheet is based on the "Policy for 
Collecting Electronic Versions of Journals" formulated in 2002. The spreadsheet is currently under development. 
Outcome: Datagathering is ongoing. CMT will return to the discussion in late spring when complete information is available for evaluation and will use the spreadsheet to construct a subset of appropriate publishers for analysis. 

III. Update on DRUM project 
Karla discussed her recent trip to Cambridge, MA for the DRUM 
conference.  Maryland is in the early stages of D-space implementation.

V. Review pending topics list 
Outcome:  The group added fund line reorganization for e-resources to 
the pending agenda list. 

VI. Round robin 
·        Karla announced Pat Adams, the Libraries' Blackwell 
representative, will be here the first week in April and will present sessions for collection manager on Blackwell's handling of monographic series and othe standing orders. 
·        Kari reminded the group that she will be doing a presentation 
on e-journal usage statistics on April 5th from 2:00-3:00pm, McKeldin 
6103 and on April 8th from 3:00-4:00pm, McKeldin 6107.
