Maryland History and Culture Team

Work Plan 2005

The goal for 2005 will be to develop a comprehensive collection policy for Maryland studies. It is hoped that the process of developing the policy will help guide additional work plan items for later in 2005. In addition, the team will tackle timely topics relating to Maryland studies on a pop-up basis.

Some considerations for items to be considered in the collection policy are:

• Serials
• "outsider" art in the form of poetry, literature, film
• Genre literature
• What is a "Maryland" author?

Some considerations for additional 2005 work plan items are:

• Acquisitions and access to electronic state documents.
• Big ticket purchases (for example, census)
• Processing and preservation priorities
• Grant opportunities
