Re: Prototype Orientation Tour of Hornbake Library to be held July 29, 2005, 10:00 a.m. - 12 noon

* Are you a relatively new staff member or student assistant in any of the Hornbake units or in the East Asia and Prange Collections?  If you are, and would like to get a complete picture of Hornbake Library and the folks who work there, please join the Orientation and Training Team for a tour of Hornbake Library on Friday, July 29, from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon.

* Are you a veteran Hornbake or East Asia/Prange staffer who would like to know more about the building and its many departments?  You too are invited to join the tour.

The purpose of the tour is to familiarize staff with the workings of Hornbake and to help us foster a sense of community in our building. This is viewed as a prototype of future tours that will be offered to new special collections staff. As this is a prototype, we value your opinion as to what is good about this tour, as well as where we need improvement.

Please join us at 10:00 a.m. in the lobby of Hornbake Library for a “behind the scenes look” at Special Collections. Baked goods and beverages will be provided at the conclusion of the tour as we conduct an informal focus session to help us improve the tour.

RSVP to Tom Connors at tconnors@umd.edu.

See you July 29!
