SCOT Team Minutes, July 20th, 2005
Present: Eiko Sakaguchi, Allan Rough, Kevin Hammett, Suzanne Linebaugh, Janna Robinson, Tom Connors
The team discussed the upcoming prototype orientation tour of Hornbake Library which will take place on Friday, July 29, 10:00 am.-12 noon.
Sequence of events: (Starting from the fourth floor and working our way down to ground)
Fourth floor
- Allan will talk about what had been on the 4th floor – old Nonprint Media.
- Tom will talk about Broadcasting holdings on the 4th floor.
- Eiko will talk about Prange's move to Hornbake 4th floor. (15 minutes)
Third floor
- Tom will present a short discussion of what happens in the Broadcasting Archives.(10 minutes)
Second floor
- Kevin will talk about NTL. (10 minutes)
- Jennie will talk about Historical Manuscripts. (10 minutes)
- Anne will talk about University Archives. (10 minutes)
- Beth's GA will talk about Literary Manuscripts, then lead the group to KAP room on the first floor.(10 minutes)
First floor
- Beth's GA will show the KAP
- room then lead the group to the Maryland room (7 minutes).
- Doug or Ann Hudak will discuss the Maryland room. (10 minutes)
- (The Women in Broadcasting exhibit will still be up on the 29th, so Tom will briefly mention it, but we won't visit the exhibit in the interests of time.)
Ground floor
- Allan will provide a tour of the new Nonprint space. (10-15 minutes)
- The group will retire to the ground floor kitchen area for coffee and cookies and a focus discussion on how to improve the tour. (The loading dock area and Roy Alvarez's office will be pointed out as we make our way to the kitchen.)
Tom and Kevin will draft an invitation to people who work in Hornbake and East Asia/Prange and send it out by Friday, July 22. Tom will post the invite to the HBK and Prange reflectors and ask for RSVPs. Suzanne and Janna will prepare a list of names, telephone extensions and e-mail address of people who work in Hornbake and Prange as a handout. return to top
