The so-called witches of Salem were supposed to be agents of Satan and more recently, Jews and communists have been targeted as evil personified. The psychological roots of this violent compulsion are ascribed to childhood trauma resulting in an unnatural fear of and obsession with death. In the U.S., this obsession with the "dark, unclean, godlessness" of communism has been used to justify military intervention around the world, proliferation of the armaments business and sacrifice of freedom at home. Recorded in Washington, D.C. This program is part of the Pacifica Radio Archives. This tape is recorded on two sides.
