Major Development History of Greenbelt

The GIS map above shows the development history of the town of Greenbelt beginning from 1979-1993. In this map, shapefiles were created to represent each development project that took place in Greenbelt. For example, the lighter shade of yellow on the map represents the Historic Roosevelt center, whilst the darker shade of yellow represents the Golden Triangle. (See Legend for more details) The map was created by the 2008 Summer Studio class of the Urban Studies and Planning Program.

You can learn more by reading the project report, Connecting Communities in Greenbelt, Maryland [pdf]
