Maryland Day 2009

GovDocs Gone Wild

On Maryland Day, come and check out our exhibit showcasing wild animals in government documents. You can learn about government mascots like Smokey Bear and Owlie Skywarn, and see how the government learns about the animals around us, whether at the Smithsonian Institution, Fisheries Bureau, National Aquarium, National Park Service, or National Zoological Park.

Featured animals include:
  • Wild Burros
  • Diamondback Terrapins
  • Wild Horses
  • Fish
  • and many more!

Coloring pages and activity sheets will be available for vistors on April 25, 2009.
