METRO RAIL


FROM WASHINGTON, D.C.

Take the Red Line train (towards "Glenmont") and get off at the "Gallery Place-Chinatown" or "Fort Totten" station. Then transfer to the Green Line train (towards "Greenbelt") and get off at the "College Park/U of MD" station. Get on the UM Shuttle bus for the free ride to the campus.

The shuttle will let you off at the Stamp Student Union. Walk back down the little hill on Campus Drive. Hornbake Library is the building on the left with large white pillars. (If you get to the traffic circle, you've gone too far.) Take the escalator to the third floor.

CAR

FROM NORTHWEST D.C. WEST OF ROCK CREEK PARK

Go north on either Wisconsin Avenue or Connecticut Avenue and turn right onto Nebraska Avenue. Then turn right onto Military Road and go about three miles (through Rock Creek Park) and turn left onto New Hampshire Avenue (Rt. 650). Go 1.5 miles (entering the state of Maryland) and turn right onto East-West Highway (Rt. 410). Go about three miles and turn left onto U.S. Rt. 1. Go about two miles to College Park and turn left at the University's Campus Drive entrance.

After turning onto Campus Drive, stay in the left lane. Drive around the big "M" traffic circle and continue straight on Campus Drive. Turn at the first right onto Union Lane and park in the parking garage. Bring your parking ticket/receipt with you and we will validate your parking.

Walk back down the little hill on Campus Drive. Hornbake Library is the building on the left with large white pillars. (If you get to the traffic circle, you've gone too far.) Take the escalator to the third floor.

Visitors can also park at other paid meter spaces or cashier attended pay facilities around campus. Meters are available at the Visitor Center Parking Lot, (also the location of the Dairy) on U.S. Route 1 (Baltimore Avenue).


FROM NORTHWEST D.C. EAST OF ROCK CREEK PARK

Go north on 16th Street and turn right onto Military Road. Go about three miles (through Rock Creek Park) and turn left onto New Hampshire Avenue(Rt. 650). Go about 1.5 miles (entering the state of Maryland) and turn right onto East-West Highway (Rt. 410). Go about three miles and turn left onto U.S. Rt. 1. Go about two miles to College Park and turn left at the University's Campus Drive entrance.

After turning onto Campus Drive, stay in the left lane. Drive around the big "M" traffic circle and continue straight on Campus Drive. Turn at the first right onto Union Lane and park in the parking garage. Bring your parking ticket/receipt with you and we will validate your parking.

FROM NORTHEAST D.C.

Go northeast on Rhode Island Avenue (U.S. Rt. 1). After entering the state of Maryland, continue on U.S. Rt 1 for about 4.5 miles to College Park and turn left at the University's Campus Drive entrance.

After turning onto Campus Drive, stay in the left lane. Drive around the big "M" traffic circle and continue straight on Campus Drive. Turn at the first right onto Union Lane and park in the parking garage. Bring your parking ticket/receipt with you and we will validate your parking.

FROM SOUTHEAST D.C. VIA CAR

Go north on I-295 (Anacostia Freeway). After entering the state of Maryland, go about 4.5 miles, bear left and get onto the Baltimore-Washington Parkway North. Exit at Riverdale Road (MD Rt. 410) and turn left. Go about two miles (Riverdale Road becomes East-WestHighway) and turn right onto U.S. Rt. 1. Go two miles to College Park and turn left at the University's Campus Drive entrance.

After turning onto Campus Drive, stay in the left lane. Drive around the big "M" traffic circle and continue straight on Campus Drive. Turn at the first right onto Union Lane and park in the parking garage. Bring your parking ticket/receipt with you and we will validate your parking.

FROM BALTIMORE AND POINTS NORTH

Follow signs for I-95 South through Baltimore. Travel on I-95 south for about 25 miles, get into the second lane from the right and get off at I-95 Exit 27 towards College Park. After a long exit ramp, follow Washington Beltway 495 Exit 25B to the right and go south on U.S. Rt. 1 for two miles to the University's Campus Drive entrance on your right.

After turning onto Campus Drive, stay in the left lane. Drive around the big "M" traffic circle and continue straight on Campus Drive. Turn at the first right onto Union Lane and park in the parking garage. Bring your parking ticket/receipt with you and we will validate your parking.

FROM VIRGINIA AND POINTS WEST

Take I-66 East or I-270 South to Washington, DC's Capital Beltway (I-495). Go East on I-495 toward Baltimore/Silver Spring. Take Exit 25(U.S. 1 South toward College Park). Drive south on Route 1 for approximately two miles to the Campus Drive entrance on the right.

After turning onto Campus Drive, stay in the left lane. Drive around the big "M" traffic circle and continue straight on Campus Drive. Turn at the first right onto Union Lane and park in the parking garage. Bring your parking ticket/receipt with you and we will validate your parking.

FROM ANNAPOLIS AND POINTS EAST

Take U.S. 50 to Washington D.C.'s Capital Beltway (I-495). Go North on I-95/I-495 toward Baltimore. Take Exit 25 (U.S. 1 South toward College Park). Drive south on Route 1 for approximately two miles to the Campus Drive entrance on the right.

After turning onto Campus Drive, stay in the left lane. Drive around the big "M" traffic circle and continue straight on Campus Drive. Turn at the first right onto Union Lane and park in the parking garage. Bring your parking ticket/receipt with you and we will validate your parking.
