MARAC C. Herbert Finch Online Publication Award
The C. Herbert Finch Online Publication Award was established to honor the memory of C. Herbert Finch, former Assistant Director of Cornell University Libraries, who died on April 27, 2005.
Mission and Goals
The Arline Custer Memorial Award Committee will award a prize honoring online publications including virtual exhibitions, web sites and web pages devoted to the promotion and use of archival materials created by an individual, individuals, or institutions in the District of Columbia, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia.
Operations
Members of the Arline Custer Memorial Award Committee will be responsible for awarding the C. Herbert Finch Award and will use the same rules of operations for all awards with the exceptions described below.
Call for Submissions
The Arline Custer Award Committee will accept submissions or nominations for the C. Herbert Finch Award for online publications such as virtual exhibitions, web sites or web pages devoted to the promotion and use of archival materials. A web site publication that is primarily a finding aid is not eligible for the Finch Award but may be nominated for the Finding Aid Award.
To be eligible for the award, an online publication must have a stable internet address and must have been issued between January 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009. Awards will be presented at the Fall Conference in Jersey City, NJ.
The committee encourages entries that use a variety of media. Submissions are judged on content, navigability, usability, functionality, and site design.
Submissions must be received by July 31, 2009

Archival finding aids, including guides should be submitted to the MARAC Finding Aids Award Committee.
