MARAC Educational Endowment Fund
A Call for Year End Contributions
As 2001 comes to end, it is a good time to think about making a tax deductible contribution to MARAC's Educational Endowment Fund. The Fund, to be up and running in January 2002, will be used to support an array of MARAC member education initiatives such as providing scholarships to NARA's Modern Archives Institute and stipends for MARAC meeting attendance.
In January 2001, the MARAC Steering Committee began the process of establishing an educational endowment fund. Then-Committee chair Jim Byers announced that an anonymous donor had made a $2000 challenge to be matched by Steering Committee members to start such a fund. The donor stipulated that the funds raised for the endowment be set up as an investment account so that it will grow.
The Educational Endowment Fund may be a great opportunity to honor the memory of former MARAC stalwarts Arthur Breton, Brother Denis Sennett, or others. If you wish to support this effort, please make checks payable to MARAC with "Educational Endowment Fund" in the memo line and send your checks to:
