How to Find Books in the Library CatalogTo locate books: Subject searches will locate words and terms when they appear in the title, subject headings or notes of a record. The terms "history," "science" or "medicine" will retrieve thousands of records, so be sure to limit your search by adding additional terms such as taxomony, classification, or nomenclature, etc.Taxomomic guides are usually shelved with the science books (Call Numbers beginning with Q). Books are categoried according to Library of Congress Classification Scheme using L. C. Subject Headings. See the four-volume set of red books near the terminal s. Typical Library of Congress Subject headings are: Mammals -- Classification, Reptiles -- Nomenclature, etc.
Use your term(s) of interest in the search box below - or consult a Reference Librarian.
