  • American Anthropological Association. Promotes the science of Anthropology through publications, conferences, committees, organizations, job announcements, and resume posting services.

  • Society for Applied Anthropology . Advances the Anthropology profession through forums, committees, conferences, organizations, job listings, and publications.

HELPFUL ONLINE DATABASES

  • Academic Search Premier is a cross-disciplinary database of popular and scholarly journal articles. Approximately one third of the articles are available full text online. To access off-campus, use the Libraries' Research Port.

  • Anthropological Literature is a major indexing and abstracting service for anthropology. It is prepared at Harvard's Tozzer Library, one of the best anthropology libraries in the world. ANL does NOT contain the full text of journal articles. To access off-campus, use the Libraries' Research Port.

  • AnthroSource is developed by the American Anthropological Association (AAA) and brings 100 years of anthropological material online to scholars and the public. Coverage includes the fulltext of electronic AAA journals, citations, and summaries. To access off-campus, use the Libraries' Research Port.

  • Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe is a large database covering news, business, legal and other types of information. The full text of all of the articles (with few exceptions) are available online. Academic Universe is particularly good for current articles from newspapers and magazines, including the Washington Post and Baltimore Sun. To access off-campus, use the Libraries' Research Port.

  • University of Maryland's Office of Research Administration and Advancement maintains an excellent website which includes a detailed Proposal Handbook as well as other grantwriting resources.

  • Foundation Center's Guide to Proposal Writing. MCK REF HG177.5 .U6G44 1993

  • A useful guide to writing annotated bibliographies has been prepared by the University of Wisconsin as part of their Writers Handbook.
