Publication History of Poems

    Catalog
    Author biographies as well as bibliographies often give information on the publication history of specific poems. To locate these use the subject word/s search option and type in the author's name along with the word "biography" or "bibliography": EX:john donne biography OR john donne bibliography.

    Often information on where a poem was first published can be found in a collected edition of the poet's work which contains the poem. To locate editions of a poet's collected works use the author beginning with... search option and type in the author's last name, first name: EX: Collins, Billy

    Full-text literary biographies of authors.

    Poetry Anthologies:
    Typically an anthology will cite the original source of publication of the poems contained within its collection. Use the following indexes to identify anthologies that have published your poem. Then check the Catalog to see if the Library owns the anthologies.
