Zaida Diaz Zaida Diaz
Business Librarian, University of Maryland, College Park, MD, USA

Zaida serves as collection development librarian for the Robert H. Smith School of Business, and their six departments: Accounting; Decision & Information Technologies; Finance; Management & Organization; Logistics, Business & Public Policy, and Marketing, at the University of Maryland. She supports undergraduate and graduate business students and business faculty by providing assistance with general library needs and specialized business resources. She also oversees the Virtual Business Information Center (VBIC), a unique electronic resource, at the University. Zaida holds a Master of Library and Information Science from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.

Jesús Elizondo Jesús Elizondo
Coordinator of Research and Development, Bibliographer for Chemistry Department at Tecnólogico de Monterrey, Campus Monterrey, Mexico

Jesús Elizondo's activities involve research on and implementation of new technologies to improve library services. The technology involved may be from third parties or the full development of software that solves a need for the library. Jesús Elizondo also works as a librarian instructor and internal auditor for the Quality System.

Gerri Foudy Gerri Foudy
Librarian for Government & Politics, Law and Public Policy, University of Maryland, College Park, MD, USA

Gerri Foudy has been the librarian for Government & Politics, Public Policy and Law at the University of Maryland since 1999, where she provides reference, instruction and collection development services for these academic departments. She also serves as the Team Leader for the Social Sciences and Allied Professions Team, managing a team of eight subject librarians. She holds a Master of Public Administration from New York University, and a Master of Science in Library and Information Science from Long Island University.

Alejandro Garza Alejandro Garza
Director, Technology and Innovation, Tecnológico de Monterrey Library, Campus Monterrey, Mexico

Alejandro is the head of the Technology & Innovation department at Tecnológico de Monterrey Library at Monterrey Campus. He developed and deployed three releases of the institute's Digital Library, which integrates the libraries' Millennium WebOpac and Proxy, federated searching via MetaFind, and a home-grown PHP and MySQL layer adding single sign-on, bookmarking services and an institutional repository. Currently he is involved in projects to ensure process quality, give staff the tools required to do their jobs, and seek out innovative ways to help the library using cutting edge tools. Currently Alejandro's team is deploying subject gateways based on Drupal, which house a catalog discovery layer with a faceted search interface that replicates records from the Millennium system, to alleviate information overload and help the libraries' bibliographers better serve their target audiences.

Lily Griner Lily Griner
Business Librarian, University of Maryland, College Park, MD, USA

As the subject librarian for Business at the University of Maryland, Lily supports undergraduate and graduate business students and business faculty by providing assistance with general library as well as specialized business subject needs. She provides instruction to graduate and undergraduate business students in the use of electronic and print subject-specific resources, and develops and maintains business related web pages, including the Virtual Business Information Center (VBIC), a unique electronic resource at the University. She holds a Master of General Administration and a Master of Library Science from the University of Maryland.

Tim Hackman Tim Hackman
Librarian for English Language & Literature and Linguistics, University of Maryland, College Park, MD, USA

Tim Hackman has been the Librarian for English and Linguistics at the University of Maryland since 2006, where he provides reference, instruction, and collection development services to these departments. With his colleague Patricia Herron, he has developed a comprehensive instruction program for undergraduate students in the department of English. Previously he was the librarian for the Paul Wasserman Library of the College of Information Studies, University of Maryland. Tim holds his MA in English Language & Literature and his Master of Library Science from the University of Maryland.

Trudi Hahn Dr. Trudi Bellardo Hahn
Professor of the Practice, College of Information Studies, University of Maryland, College Park, MD, USA

Trudi Bellardo Hahn is a Professor of the Practice with the College of Information Studies at the University of Maryland, where she teaches, among other courses, LBSC 702 User Instruction. From 2004 to 2006 she served as the Executive Director of the U.S. National Commission on Libraries and Information Science (NCLIS) and before that she had a long career devoted to various aspects of education and training for library and information science professionals and information users. Her dedication to the highest standards in teaching was recognized in 2002 when she was named a Fellow of the Academy for Excellence in Teaching and Learning at the University of Maryland.

Dr. Hahn has authored or edited five books, published numerous papers, and delivered many conference papers and workshops related to topics and issues in education and training. She was the 2003 President of the American Society for Information Science and Technology. She earned her Ph.D. from Drexel University in1984 and MSLS from the University of Kentucky in 1976 and she received alumni awards from Kentucky and Drexel in 2006 and 2007.

Patricia Herron Patricia Herron
Librarian for English and Spanish Language & Literature, Latin American and Latino/a Studies, University of Maryland, College Park, MD, USA

As the librarian for English and Spanish Language and Literature, the Latin American Studies Center, and the Latina/o Studies program at the University of Maryland, Patricia Herron provides research and library instruction services to these departments and centers. She also develops and manages library collections in the areas of English and American literature. Since 1998 she has served as an affiliate faculty member with the Latin American Studies Center at the University, and taught library and information science courses for the Catholic University of America between 1991 and 1996. She earned her Master of Library Science from Columbia University in New York City.

Felipe works as Coordinator of Training and Collection Development and Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Science and Knowledge Administration at the Tecnológico de Monterrey Virtual University. He has also worked as Coordinator of the User Education Program at Tecnológico de Monterrey Main Library, as Head of the User Services Department, as a Reference Librarian, and as a Junior High School Teacher. He holds a Master's Degree in Education from the Nuevo Leon State University; a Master's Degree in Business Management with a minor in Human Resources from the Nuevo Leon State University; a Master's Degree in Library Science and Knowledge Management from Tecnológico de Monterrey Virtual University, and is currently registered in the Graduate School of Education at the Tecnológico de Monterrey Virtual University.

As the collection development librarian for the Departments of History, Jewish, Slavic and Women's studies at the University of Maryland, Yelena Luckert develops and maintains high quality library collection in these subject areas. She supports undergraduate and graduate students and faculty in her subject areas by providing assistance with general and specialized library needs and by providing library instruction. She holds a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Albany in New York and a Master of Arts in History from Binghamton University, New York.

María del Rocío Méndez Lara María del Rocío Méndez Lara
Associate Director, Interactive Center for Information Resources and Learning (CIRIA), University of the Americas, Puebla, Mexico

Maria is a faculty member at the Interactive Center for Information Resources and Learning (CIRIA) at the University of the Americas, in Puebla, Mexico, and teaches courses in library science and research methods. She has worked as a Research Assistant and Reference Librarian at the University of Puerto Rico, Recinto Rio Piedras, and Coordinator of Digital Collections Development at the University of the Americas Library, in Puebla, Mexico. Her research areas of interest are virtual environments, digital collection development and digital learning environments. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Management and a Master degree in Psychology from the University of the Americas, Puebla, a Master degree in Library Science from the University of Puerto Rico, Recinto Rio Piedras, and has been a PhD candidate since 2007.

Heleni Pedersoli Heleni Pedersoli
Librarian for French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese Language & Literature, and Germanic Studies, University of Maryland, College Park, MD, USA

Heleni Pedersoli is Librarian for Western European and Latin American Studies (languages, literatures and cultures) at the University of Maryland Libraries. She has been working with the American Library Association's International Relations Committee and the ACRL International Relations Committee for many years and with the Sister Libraries Program from its beginnings. Heleni is a member of the Humanities Team at McKeldin Library.

Patricia Verdines Patricia Verdines
Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science, Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico

Patricia works as Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico, and teaches courses on Information Technology and Information Use at the University of Maryland iSchool during summer sessions. She holds a B.S. in Information Systems Engineering from the Nuevo Leon State University, Mexico; a Master's degree in Information Engineering from the University of Tokyo; and a PhD in Information Science from the University of Maryland College Park.

Susan White Susan White
Distinguished Tyser Teaching Fellow, R.H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland, College Park, MD, USA

Susan White has taught undergraduate and MBA corporate finance classes at the University of Maryland since 2001. Currently she teaches BMGT 340, Business Finance, the introductory finance class required of all business majors, and BMGT 440, Advanced Corporate Finance. Both classes require student projects with extensive data needs. She also serves as chair of the Finance Department's Undergraduate Curriculum Committee and of the Financial Markets Laboratories. Previously she was a senior lecturer at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. White received her PhD in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin, and her MBA from Binghamton University.

Tanner Wray Tanner Wray
Director of Public Services, University of Maryland Libraries, College Park, MD, USA

Tanner Wray has been the Director of Public Services for the University of Maryland Libraries since 2005, where he oversees public services functions (including circulation, interlibrary loan, reserves, reference and user education) at the Art, Architecture, Chemistry, Engineering and Physical Sciences, McKeldin, Performing Arts and Shady Grove Libraries. He holds a Master of Library Science from Syracuse University, New York.
