GENERAL DATABASES

  • Academic Search Premier
    Interdisciplinary database. Provides abstracts and indexing for over 7,000 journals. Full text of articles for over 4,000 scholarly publications, including more than 3,100 peer-reviewed publications.

LEGAL DATABASES

  • Westlaw Campus Research
    Full-text access to cases from the courts of all 50 states and federal courts, statutes from all 50 states and federal statutes published in the /United States Code Annotated, American Jurisprudence 2d /legal encyclopedia, /American Law Reports, /federal regulations, law reviews and legal periodicals, plus the ability to update case law using /West's KeyCite/ system.

  • LexisNexis Academic
    Full-text database that offers a wide range of news, political, legal, business, and reference information in full-text format. Primary source of newspaper articles, including those from the Washington Post and the New York Times. Federal code, regulations, and case law, plus state codes and case law are also included.

  • Thomas (Library of Congress)
    Provides full text of the United States Congress legislation; Congressional Record, committee information, and historical documents.

WOMEN STUDIES

  • Women's Studies International
    (1972-present) The ultimate women's studies resource! Includes over 232,000 records drawn from a variety of essential women's studies databases.

  • GenderWatch
    Full text database comprised primarily of the many ongoing periodicals that deal with gender issues, including academic and scholarly journals, regional publications, magazines, newspapers, newsletters, booklets and reports. Contains archival material, in some cases as far back as 1974. Be mindful whether you found a scholarly (or refereed) article or an article from general press.

PUBLIC POLICY

  • PAIS International (CSA)
    References to journal articles, books, government documents, statistical directories, grey literature, research reports, conference reports, publications of international agencies, microfiche, Internet material, and more from 1972 to the present. Newspapers and newsletters are not indexed. Coverage is international and multidisciplinary on a wide range of public affairs topics, including: the environment, business, education, government, health, international relations, law & legislation, criminal justice, political science, social issues, and public administration.

The topic of this course is very interdisciplinary. Depending on your specific topic you might need to consult other databases in a variety of subject areas. Please see the complete list of databases by subjects in Research Port.
