Description

This collection consists of the following two sets of source materials prepared by the American forces in Germany during the post World War I occupation:
  1. American Military Government of Occupied Germany: 1918-1928.
    Report of the Officer in Charge of Civil Affairs, Third Army and American Forces in Germany.
  2. American Representation in Occupied Germany: 1920-1923.
    Compiled by the Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence, American Forces in Germany.

  • REEL 1 consists of volumes I through IV of Military Government of Occupied Germany, 1918-1920.
    Volume I is a narrative composed of eighteen topical chapters. Volumes II-IV are appendices to the first volume.
  • REEL 2 contains volumes I through III of American Representation in Occupied Germany, volumes I and II covering the period 19201921 and volume III covering the period January 1922-February 1923.

There is no subject index to the documents but each volume has a detailed table of contents.
