Description

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (S.E.C.) requires audited annual (10-K) reports of publicly held corporations. A selected group of 10-K reports is available on microfiche in McKeldin Library's Periodicals-Microforms Room. The collection includes the 10-K reports for the 500 largest industrial, the fifty largest retailing, and the fifty largest transportation companies as ranked in the May and July issues of Fortune magazine. (Copies of all corporate reports required by the S.E.C. are available in their Washington, D.C. office.). The collection also includes fifty Maryland-based companies. (A list of the fifty Maryland-companies can be found below in the notes.)

Annual reports (indicated by an orange header on each microfiche) were received from 1969 through 1971. 10-K reports (indicated by a white header on each microfiche) have been received from 1972-1983. 10-K reports for the retailing, transportation and Maryland companies received from 1978-1983

The reports are filed in one alphabetical sequence by company name, and then chronologically under each company.

For more current annual reports, see the microfiche collection: SEC-File.

When a company is no longer listed, the previous reports of the company are retained in the microfiche collection.
