This microfiche collection contains European emblem books published by Inter Documentation Company in Zug, Switzerland.
Each title has been cataloged separately under author (if known) or title. The collection can easily be browsed under the subject headings EMBLEMS or EMBLEM BOOKS in the Art Library subject catalog.
Titles vary. In the publisher's catalog the emblem books carry an extra identification: "Pr.p.x." means that the book has been mentioned on page x by M. Praz in his Studies in Seventeenth-Century Imagery (Rome 1964 - Art N 7740 .P72 1964). The indication "La x" means that the book has been registered under the number x by J. Landwehr in his Emblem Books in the LowCountries 1554-1949. A Bibliography (Utrecht 1970 -Art Z 1023 .L3).
