Description

This microfiche collection consists of surveys conducted in France during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries by regional funtionaries of the governments of the Directory, the Consulate and the First Empire. National, as well as departmental, statistical information is included for industry, agriculture, commerce, the general population, etc.

Individual items are arranged by call numbers in the Periodicals/Microforms Room

The index for this collection lists the call numbers of the microfiche and arranges them by the following divisions:

  • I. Methodological Pieces
  • II. Basic Periodical Statistical Publications
  • III.General Works (national statistics)
  • IV: Surveys of the Perfects and Detailed Investigations. (The latter are asterisked.) This section is subdivided by department.

Numbers in the right margins of the index indicate the number of microfiche per title and the number of printed pages reproduced per title, e.g., 13 MF-60.

The collection is comprised of 424 microfiche which represent approximately 30,000 pages of printed material. The complete collection of government statistical publications is in the Biblioteque Nationale.
