Great Britain. Foreign Office. War 1914-1918. Jedda Agency Papers, 1913-1925: Middle East Series 3.
DescriptionThis collection includes correspondence of the Sherif of Mecca, his sons, Bin (Ibn) Saud of Nejd and other Arab leaders. The records relate to the conduct of irregular warfare against the Turks, post-war settlements and subsequent affairs of Hejaz and Nejd. No agency papers dated after 1925 are extant.
Since the Jedda Agency (Foreign Office 686) papers are arranged in neither chronological nor alphabetical order, the index should be used for access. This Agency, a para-military organization, was formed in 1914. Its prime function, in conjunction with the Arab Bureau, was to further British aims in the Middle East.
