These five collections together contain full text copies of all the papers read before the world congresses of the International Political Science Association between 1976 and 1988.

For the 1976 and 1979 World Congress microfiche, each fiche is numbered on its upper right hand corner. The fiche are then filed in numerical order. For later years there is a notation on each fiche that it contains paper #__ to paper #__. The fiche are then filed in order by paper number.

The International Political Science Association was founded in 1949. Its' goal is to promote collaboration among the world's political scientists. To further this goal it sponsors publications, workshops and study groups, including the world congresses which are the subject of these microfiche collections.

The papers replicated here are made accessible by hard copy indexes. Also, for all years except 1979, the first fiche in each collection reproduces the hard copy index for that year. Within each collection, papers in the indexes are arranged in order of the particular conference session at which they were presented. Additionally, the indexes include an alphabetical author index. For two of the IPSA World Congress collections we have abstract volumes.

The UMCP Libraries also have, in hard copy, the conference papers from the VIth IPSA World Congress in 1964 and partial holdings from the Vth (1961) World Congress.(McK Folio JA27.I626)
