Description

This microfiche collection of nearly 30,000 photographs reproduces almost all of the Museum's paintings, watercolors and portrait miniatures, as well as large selctions from every school from Europe to the Far Easts, from the 15th cenury to the present day.

The collection is divided into three main sections: P=Painting; D=Design; G=Grpahic Art. The Painting section includes over 1600 paintings, 3200 watercolors and 3700 drawings. The Design section includes designs for buildings, monuments, interiors, stage design, etc. The Graphic Art section includes 1400 portrait miniatures, 3000 engravings, 600 manuscripts, 300 posters, and over 1000 early historic photographs. There are also works form the Oriental collection.
