John Crabbe started in public broadcasting in 1937, when he joined the faculty of the University of the Pacific to teach courses in radio. He was instrumental in putting one of California's first educational radio stations, KUOP-FM on the air. He also participated in the drive to reserve FM channels for educational use, served on the staff of the Institute for Educational by Radio and Television for several years, and was the first manager of KVIE-TV, Sacramento. He was also one of the first Program Associates of the Educational Television and Radio Center. At the time of the interview, he was general manager of KTSC-TV, Pueblo, CO.

In this interview, Crabbe discusses his career, especially the early days of KUOP.
