John DeCamp

John DeCamp spent thirty-six years at radio station WBAA at Purdue University, including nearly sixteen years as station manager. In 1975, he resigned to become Public Relations Director for the Purdue Department of Athletics. During most of his broadcasting career, DeCamp was the radio voice of the Purdue Boilermakers.

In this interview, John DeCamp describes educational broadcasting from the 1940s to the 1960s. He also discusses sports broadcasting and why he left public radio.
