Richard B. Hull

Richard B. Hull started in educational broadcasting in 1936 when he joined the staff of WOI at Iowa State University. He worked in radio in Iowa, Minnesota, Ohio, and Oregon, but spent most of his career as Director of Broadcasting - first at Iowa State and then at Ohio State Universities. Hull also served seventeen years in the National Association of Educational Broadcasters including three years as President.

In this interview, Hull discusses the early history of WOI. He also talks about the sense of mission which motivated the pioneers in non-commercial radio and his concern that this sense of mission has disappeared.

Richard B. Hull died in May 1980.
