Lucinda Kindred

Lucinda Kindred was a key member of National Educational Radio (NER) during the first five years of its existence. During her tenure, she seved as the secretary to the Executive Director, Administrative Assistant, and Manager of the National Educational Radio Tape Network (NERN). Throughout the period she maintained most of NER's correspondence with its membership and she participated in board meetings, conferences and other activities.

In this interview, Kindred discusses many of the people involved with NER. She also talks about the Wingspread Conference, the efforts at "legislative education" made by NER during congressional consideration of the Public Broadcasting Act, and the operation of the NER Network, especially concerning the transfer from Urbana, Illinois to Washington, DC.
