Allen MillerInterviewed by: Burt Harrison Public Radio Oral History Project July 1977 Allen Miller began his career in educational broadcasting in 1926 as Radio Director of the University of Chicago. There, he formed the University Broadcasting Council, a production and program placement agency serving most of the institutions of higher education in the Chicago area. Later, he served as head of the Rocky Mountain Radio Council, a similar organization in Denver. He also spent a period as manager of KOAC, Corvallis, Oregon. For the last twenty years he was General Manager of the Radio-Television Services of Washington State University as well as the University's Director of Information Services. In this interview, Miller discusses his radio activities in Chicago in the 1920s and 1930s. He particularly talks about the program University of Chicago Round Table which he founded and which served as a prototype for all radio discussion programs.
