James M. Morris

Interviewed by: Burt Harrison
Public Radio Oral History Project
June 27, 1978

James Morris became involved with KOAC, Corvallis, Oregon, in 1924, when he enrolled at Oregon State University as an electrical engineering student. He worked as a full time member of the station's programming and management staff from 1968 to 1963. He then became Managing Editor of Oregon State's Division of Continuing Education Publications. Among his publications is The Remembered Years, a history of KOAC's first half-century on the air.

In this interview Dr. Morris discusses the early times at KOAC, as well as the people, the ideas, and the events involved in the development of the station and the statewide Oregon Educational and Public Broadcasting Service.
