Educational Television Stations (ETS)

Administrative History/Information:

• Created by the National Association of Educational Broadcasters at the 1963 convention as a new division which had responsibilities in six areas:
  • activation and development of new ETV stations
  • representation of stations before government and private agencies
  • compilation of data regarding fund-raising activities
  • facilitating personnel training and placement programs
  • holding regional and national conferences
  • establishment of an ETV [educational television] program library service: Educational Television Stations Program Service: 1965
  • Merges with the newly reorganized Public Broadcasting Service: 1973
