Administrative History/Information:

• formerly ACUBS - the Association of College and University Broadcasting Stations
• Persuades the FCC to reserve five channels for educational broadcasting: 1938
• Merged with the Association of Education by Radio-Television: 1956
• Reorganized in 1963 - divisions created included:
  • Educational Television Stations
  • National Educational Radio
• Dissolves Educational Television Stations and National Educational Radio divisions: 1973
• until it folded in 1981, NAEB was public broadcasting's primary voice, forum and program distributor
