• Began as a cooperative program exchange by the Educational Television Stations division of NAEB: known as Educational Television Stations Program Service (ETS/PS): 1965
• PBS assumes responsibility of ETS/PS - changes name to Public Television Library (PTL): 1971
• ETS and PBS merge: PTL moves offices from Bloomington, IN to Washington, DC: 1973
• types of programming distributed included:
  • Public/Community Affairs
  • Performance, Cultural Programs and Arts
  • Children's Programming
