Contemporary Audio and Video ProgramsThis collection includes approximately 200 commercially-released videos and audio programs that were made by either the National Trust for Historic Preservation, its programs such as the Main Street Program, other preservation organizations, historic sites, broadcast networks and independent documentary makers. The bulk of the collection is made up of programs about historic sites or towns in the United States and the efforts of their citizens to preserve their historic architecture. Other broad categories covered in this collection include administrative subjects relating to historic sites, general history topics, architects and architectural styles and periods, preservation techniques and how-to topics, promotion videos for preservation programs, National Trust properties, and the National Trust’s annual series on America’s Most Endangered Historic Sites (1993-2001). A small portion of these videos have been cataloged and can be found in the UM Libraries’ Catalog. Go to the catalog and log in or click "guest." On the search screen, click on "advanced search." Under location, choose “National Trust Library,” and under format, choose “Videos/Films (all).” For a complete list of titles, please contact the National Trust Library. If you are interested in viewing these materials, please contact the NTL staff who can make arrangements with the Libraries' Non-print Media Services unit located in Hornbake Library. Some of the material is unique and in fragile, obsolete formats. Special arrangements for accessing such material can be made through the National Trust Library. | ||
