NTL Film, Video, and Audio Collections

The National Trust Library has in its collection films, videos, and audio tapes related to historic sites and preservation dating from the 1930s to the present. If you are interested in viewing these materials, please contact NTL staff, who can make arrangements with the Libraries' Non-print Media Services unit located in Hornbake Library.

Some of the material is unique or exists in fragile or obsolete formats. Special arrangements for accessing such material can be made through the National Trust Library with the cooperation of the Non-print media library.

Copies of copyrighted material will not be made without written permission from the copyright holder. While NTL staff will make every effort to share information we have about the materials and their status, the responsibility for determining copyright status rests with the patron. Copies of items that are not copyrighted can be made either through the Non-print media library or using an off-site lab, depending on the formats involved, and at the expense of the patron.

These collections are only partially processed. In general, film, video, and audio materials have been divided into four groups. The first comprises all of the commercially distributed audio and video programs, and the remaining three include unpublished, archival film, video, and audio materials. Use the links below to find out more about the collections and to access the available inventories.
