National Trust Library Vertical Files

Geographical Files on Maryland Localities

The National Trust Library has a large collection of files from the original library at the National Trust for Historic Preservation. These files were kept by staff at the Trust for organizations, geographic locations, and subjects. While these materials are too small and too numerous to include item by item in the library catalog, patrons are welcome to request information about their contents, or to ask to see them in the Maryland Room.

Most of the material in these files dates from the 1960s to the 1980s, when the library was moved to the University of Maryland. They include clippings, brochures, mailings, memos, reports, and other miscellaneous materials.
