Using Webpages as a Source

The Internet, used appropriately, can be a powerful source for preliminary research. There are a number of useful search engines and directories including Google, Alta Vista, and Yahoo that can be used. When using internet resources it is important to evaluate the validity of the sites' content. The University of Maryland libraries have created a guide that will help you determine a sites' credibility. This guide is available at: http://www.lib.umd.edu/UES/evaluate.html.
