Information related to semblance

semblance is a site-specific contemporary dance by Professor Sharon Mansur. This piece was inspired in part by the photography of Francesca Woodman, as well as some of the artists featured in the "Role Models: Feminine Identity in Contemporary American Photography" exhibit at the National Women's Museum of Women in the Arts from the fall of 2008. This multi-media work is concerned with the theme of feminine identity, and is realized through choreography and improvisation, videography by Boris Willis, photography by Sharon Mansur, Ginger Wagg and Boris Willis, and an original sound score by Rebecca C. Adams.
