Bella Davidovich

This eminent Russian pianist studied at the Moscow Conservatory with Yakov Fliere and won first prize in the 1949 International Chopin Competition in Warsaw. Very active as a performer in the USSR, Davidovich appeared as soloist with the Leningrad Philharmonic for 28 consecutive seasons. She made her American recital debut at Carnegie Hall on October 12, 1979 and subsequently settled in the U.S., dividing her energies between concertizing and teaching. Her numerous recordings have been issued by Melodiya, Philips, Delos, and Orfeo.

IPAM's Davidovich Collection consists of a large quantity of Russian concert programs that document both her own concert activity as well as performances by many other Soviet musicians.
