Periodically, IPAM issues a newsletter with information on recent additions to the collection, interviews and other news in the piano world. IPAM has made available below the two most recent newsletters, from the fall of 1996 and the winter of 1998. Newsletters from 1987, 1988, 1990, 1991 and 1993 are still available by request. To view PDF files, you need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer. It is a simple download and is available from www.adobe.com.

In 2000, IPAM brought forth two significant new publications. One is a two-CD anthology called "A Multitude of Pianists," drawn from rarities in the Harry L. Anderson Collection. The other is a unique book containing the collected essays of the late Jan Holcman, issued under the title "Pianists: On and Off the Record". Both publications are only available from IPAM or via the University of Maryland "Friends of the Libraries" online store.

A further, equally important CD publication, although not produced by IPAM, has just been released by Marston Records. It is a two-CD set (Marston 52015) devoted to the rare 1949-53 solo recordings of the late Carl Friedberg, a pupil of Clara Schumann who was also coached by Johannes Brahms in the interpretation of the latter's piano music. Friedberg was equally esteemed as a teacher, counting Malcolm Frager, William Masselos, Bruce Hungerford and many others among his pupils. These Marston CDs are the first and only representation of Friedberg's artistry on compact discs.
