29a. Certificate of commission, appointing P.S. Gilmore Aid-de-Camp of the Grand Army of the Republic, New York Department; given at Albany, March 7, 1889. Mounted in mat. The text reads: Grand Army of the Republic The Commonwealth of the Department of New York To Comrade P. S. Gilmore Greeting. Reposing special trust and confidence in your Fidelity and Ability and in your zeal for the interests of the Grand Army of the Republic and devotion to its principles, I do, by virtue of the power and authority in me vested hereby appoint you Aid de Camp and I authorize and empower you to enter upon and perform the duties of said Office in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the Grand Army of the Republic, and for so doing this shall be your Commission. Given at the Headquarters of the Department of New York, Grand Army of the Republic at Albany this 7th day of March 1889. [signed] A. R.
