Edwin Franko Goldman is shown rehearsing his band, c. 1945. Beginning in 1924, concerts by Goldman's ensemble were underwritten by the Guggenheim Foundation and advertised as "The Guggenheim Memorial Concerts given by The Goldman Band." The majority of concerts were given in Central Park, with the remainder performed in Brooklyn's Prospect Park. [Goldman Collection IV.24]
