Biography: Richard Vickrey Madden was born in 1912. Madden attended Northwestern University, where he received his bachelors degree in 1933 and his masters in 1941, both in music education. Between 1937 and 1942, Madden served as band director for the Evanston and Haven High Schools, and in 1942 he become director of bands at Syracuse University. | ||
