Winner 1970: Fisher Tull, Toccata [Listen]

Biography: Tull was educated at North Texas State University, earning a Ph.D. in composition as a student of Samuel Adler. In 1957 he joined the faculty of Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.

Tull's music ranges from the neo-classical (Toccata) to the experimental (Jargon). He has recieved awards from the Texas Composers Guild, ASCAP, the Friends of Harvey Gaul, and the Artists Advisroy Council of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
