Search TipsLists are in alphabetical order by the surnames of composers or arrangers. Baker's Biographical Dictionary of Musicians is the authority for names. [A] [Ba-Baz] [Be-Bez] [Bi-By] [C] [D] [E] [F] [G] [Ha-Hay] [He-Hy] [I] [J] [K] [L] [Ma-Mc] [Me-Moy] [Moz-My] [N] [O] [P] [Q] [R] [Sa-Sc] [Se-Sp] [St-Sz] [T] [U] [V] [W] [XYZ] There are Albums of scores by several composers and scores by Anonymous composers. There is also an Ensemble Index. Entries list composer/arranger name, title (as it appears on the cover or first page of the score), imprint information for published scores, instrumentation, collation, additional information where needed (e.g., arrangers, transcribers, editors, duration, donors), and the inventory number (call number) for each score. Note: Include composer, title, and entry number when ordering scores. Instrumentation appears in the order stated in the score, using abbreviations.
More TipsBecause titles have been taken from title pages, a piece of music may appear in this list under several different entries, with titles in different languages or different word order. For example, Mendelssohn's Op. 114 is listed under his name at "C" for an edition that titles it "Concertpiece No.2" and at "K" for an edition that titles it "Konzertstück Nr.2." If you fail to find a piece under a common title, continue searching that composer's listings in case it appears under a different version of the title. Before ordering scores from the ICA Research Center, be sure to check the instrumentation for the piece you wish to borrow; many pieces in the collection are arrangements, and we own several different arrangements of some pieces. Paper edition: The Inventory of the ICA Research Center Score Collection, 3rd Edition, is now available. Paper edition description and information
