Michelle Smith Performing Arts Library Course ReservesFinding Course Reserves
Find Your Course Reserves in the Libraries online catalog. Using course reserves in the Michelle Smith Performing Arts LibraryReserves are kept at the Performing Arts Library Circulation Desk, and are available for two-hour loans during the semester, although Circulation Staff may reduce the loan period during high-use periods. Valid UM identification (see requirements for general loans) must be presented to borrow any reserve items. The Overdue fines for course reserve materials are $5.00 per item for the first hour or fraction thereof, and $2.50 per hour thereafter. In cases of repeated lateness or other abuse of the course reserves services, the Circulation staff may suspend a student's right to borrow reserve materials. When submitting a request please include the following information:
Please do not include any items that can not be placed on reserves, for examples reference, bound journals or other non-circulating material. Materials that have to be purchased by the library for reserve must be ordered early. Please allow up to *60 days* for acquiring the materials. If assistance is needed in finding resources, please contact Stephen Henry or call (301) 405-9256 for *music* materials. For *theatre* and *dance* materials please contact Leahkim Gannett or call (301) 405-9117. Journal articles and chapters in books will be put on reserve electronically. These requests must be taken to McKeldin Library for processing. See the instructions on this page: Course Reserves at McKeldin Library, especially the paragraphs on Articles and Book Chapters, which explain that these will be electronic reserves, with links either to online sources or to scanned copies of articles/chapters provided by faculty (when notice of copyright is included).
