The Foundation Center offers a variety of educational resources for grants. Classes, many of them offered free of charge, provide an introduction to applying for a grant and grant writing. University of Maryland
UMD regularly offers the following grant training through the Personnel Services Department. Click on the links below for scheduled class dates and to register online.- Accounting for Contracts and Grants
This class will focus on issues directly related to managing sponsored programs in the University accounting system. PI’s, business managers and administrative personnel who are responsible for posting or tracking expenses on federal or other sponsored projects are recommended to attend. - Contract and Grant Compliance
This workshop provides an overview of regulatory and management requirements assumed by Principle Investigators and the University of Maryland as recipients of federal funds. OMB circulars A21, A110 and A133 will be reviewed, as well as CAS and other compliance regulations. Indirect cost calculations/managing government owned equipment will also be discussed.
